Recipe for Oatmeal-Molasses Snack Cake

1.67	c	All-purpose* flour
1.00	c	Packed brown sugar or
		Granulated sugar
1.00	ts	Baking soda
0.50	ts	Salt
0.75	c	Quick-cooking oats
0.50	c	Raisins
1.00	ts	Ground allspice
1.00	c	Water
0.33	c	Vegetable oil
1.00	ts	Vinegar
2.00	tb	Dark molasses

Instructions:
*do not use self-rising flour In this recipe.
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, oats, raisins and allspice with fork in ungreased square pan, 8 X 8 X 2 inches.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool on wire rack.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
9 SERVINGS; 305 CALORIES PER SERVING.
To Microwave: Mix batter in ungreased round microwavable dish, 8 X 1-1/2 inches.
Elevate dish on inverted microwavable pie plate in microwave oven.
Microwave uncovered on medium (50%) 15 to 17 minutes, rotating dish 1/4 turn every 5 minutes, until top springs back when touched lightly.
(Top may appear wet but will continue cooking as cake stands.
) Let stand on flat, heatproof surface (not wire rack); cool.
