RECIPE FOR BRAUNE ZUCKER PLATZCHEN (BROWN SUGAR COOKIES)
Title: Braune Zucker Platzchen (brown Sugar Cookies)

Ingredients:
1.50cBrown Sugar; Frimly Packed
0.67cShortening
2.00Eggs; Large
2.00tbMilk
1.00tbOrange Rind; Grated
2.00tsBaking Powder
1.00tsCinnamon
0.50tsCloves
0.25tsSalt
2.00cUnbleached Flour
1.00cRaisins
0.50cNuts; Chopped, If Desired

Instructions:
Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs, milk and orange rind.
Stir togethr baking powder, spices, salt and flour.
Mix into sugar mixture.
Stir in raisins and nuts, if used.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees F.
about 10 to 12 minutes, or until done.
Remove from baking sheets and cool cookies on rack.
Store in airtight tins.
Makes about 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
