RECIPE FOR GARBANZO BURGERS
Title: Garbanzo Burgers

Serves: 4

Ingredients:
2.00cGarbanzo beans
6.00cWater
2.00tbOil
2.00Garlic cloves, diced
2.00lgOnions
2.00Carrots, diced
3.00Celery stalks, diced
3.00Green peppers, diced
3.00tbTamari (similar to soy
sauce)
0.50tsSea salt
0.50tsBasil
0.50tsTahini (sesame-seed paste)
0.25tsPaprika
0.25tsOregano
0.25tsCumin

Instructions:
Soak garbanzos in water overnight.
Drain, then place in pressure cooker with water; cook 1 hour.
In large skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
Add garlic, onions, carrots, celery and peppers.
Saute 7 minutes.
Season with tamari, salt and basil.
Drain beans and mash well.
Combine with sauteed vegetables, tahini, paprika, oregano and cumin.
Lightly oil a baking sheet.
Form mixture into patties, set on sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Makes 4 burgers.
