| RECIPE FOR SPAGHETTI SAUCE |

Ingredients:
| 0.50 | c | Onion slices | | 2.00 | tb | Olive oil | | 1.00 | lb | Ground beef | | 2.00 | | Garlic cloves; minced | | 2.00 | lb | Canned tomatoes; 4 cups | | 16.00 | oz | Canned tomato sauce; 2 cups | | 3.00 | oz | Canned mushrooms; 2/3 cup | | 0.25 | c | Parsley | | 1.50 | ts | Oregano | | 1.00 | ts | Salt | | 0.25 | ts | Thyme | | 1.00 | | Bay leaf | | 1.00 | c | Water |
Instructions: In large skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender.
Add meat and garlic; brown lightly.
Add remaining ingredients.
Simmer uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours or till sauce is thick; stir occasionally.
Remove bay leaf.
Serve over hot spaghetti.
Garnish with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
NOTE: One pound of spaghetti will serve 4 to 6 as a main dish with sauce.
