Ingredients:
| --------- | TOPPING --------- | | 0.25 | c | Brown sugar | | 0.25 | c | White sugar | | 2.00 | ts | Cinnamon | | 1.00 | c | Unsifted flour | | 0.50 | c | Butter | | --------- | CAKE --------- | | 2.50 | c | Unsifted flour | | 0.25 | c | White sugar | | 0.25 | ts | Salt | | 1.00 | pk | Active dry yeast | | 0.50 | c | Butter | | | Egg | | 0.75 | c | Milk | | --------- | TOPPING --------- | | --------- | CAKE --------- |
Instructions:
For topping, mix sugars, cinnamon, and flour.
Cut butter until mixture is crumbly.
To make cake, mix 1 cup flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
Place milk and butter in a saucepan and heat until very warm (120 to 130 degrees F).
Gradually add to dry ingredients;beat for 2 minutes.
Beat in egg and 1 cup flour.
Beat on high speed 2 minutes.
Stir in remaining flour to make a stiff batter.
Spread batter into well greased 9-inch square pan.
Sprinkle with topping.
Let rise in a warm place until double in bulk, about 1 1/2 hours.
Bake at 350 degrees F about 45 minutes, or until done.
