| RECIPE FOR CABBAGE AND BACON GOULASH |

Ingredients:
| 2.00 | tb | Butter | | 2.00 | | Potatoes, cut into smallish | | | -cubes | | 4.00 | | Carrots, sliced | | | Several whole small onions | | | -(one or two each) | | 2.00 | | Stalks of celery, sliced | | 1.00 | | Bay leaf | | 3.00 | c | Water | | 1.50 | lb | Peameal bacon, cut in bite | | | -size pieces | | 1.00 | | Cabbage, cut into chunks | | | Salt and pepper, and any | | | -herbs that you think would | | | -be nice | | 2.00 | c | Milk |
Instructions: Melt butter in a heavy pot.
Add vegies, (but cabbage) and saute over medium heat for five minutes.
Add bacon and bay leaf, and stir for a couple more minutes.
Add water, seasonings, and simmer for an hour.
Add cabbage, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add milk and bring to heat.
