| RECIPE FOR APPLESAUCE WALNUT CAKE |

Ingredients:
| 2.00 | c | Whole wheat pastry flour | | 2.00 | ts | Baking powder | | 0.50 | ts | Cinnamon | | 0.25 | ts | Cloves | | 0.67 | c | Walnuts; finely chopped | | 0.50 | c | Butter or margarine; soften | | | -d | | 0.50 | c | Honey | | 2.00 | | Eggs | | 1.00 | ts | Vanilla | | 1.50 | c | Applesauce |
Instructions:
Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves in a mixing bowl; then stir in nuts and mix well.
Cream butter with honey; then beat in eggs and stir in vanilla and applesauce to mix well.
Combine in a separate bowl the two sets of ingredients and mix well.
Pour into a buttered 8 or 9"" square pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for about one hour.
Cool slightly before cutting.
