| RECIPE FOR APPLES NORMANDES |
Title: Apples Normandes Serves: 6
Ingredients:
| 6.00 | | Apples | | 0.75 | c | Sugar | | 0.33 | c | Water | | | Juice and grated rind of 1 | | | -lemon | | 2.00 | tb | Apricot, peach or plum jam | | 2.00 | tb | Sherry |
Instructions: A cool, tart, tasty, fruit dessert.
Choose apple of the same size.
Peel, core and quarter them, place in a heavily buttered frying pan and cover with a syrup made from the sugar,water, lemon juice and rind.
bring to a boil, cover and cook slowly over very low heat 10-20 minutes.
When cooked, place apples on a fruit dish and add jam and sherry to syrup in pan.
Simmer until sauce thickens.
Pour over apples and chill.
Serves 6.
