| RECIPE FOR BOSTON BROWN BREAD (A MUST WITH BAKED BEANS) |
Title: Boston Brown Bread (a Must With Baked Beans) Serves: 10
Ingredients:
| 0.50 | c | Flour | | 1.50 | t | Salt | | 0.50 | c | Corn Meal | | 0.75 | c | Dark molasses | | 2.00 | c | Milk | | 0.75 | c | Sugar | | 1.50 | t | Baking soda | | 3.00 | c | Whole wheat flour | | 1.00 | ea | Egg | | 0.50 | c | Melted shortening |
Instructions: Sift flour, baking soda, sugar, and salt together.
Mix in corn meal and whole wheat flour.
Add remaining ingredients, mixing only untill all flour is moistened.
Pour into 2 greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pans.
Bake at 300F for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Remove from pans and cool.
