| RECIPE FOR MASSACHUSETTS CORN BREAD |
Title: Massachusetts Corn Bread Serves: 4
Ingredients:
| 1.00 | c | Yellow cornmeal | | 1.00 | c | Flour | | 1.00 | ts | Sugar | | 0.50 | ts | Salt | | 4.00 | ts | Baking powder | | 1.00 | | Egg | | 1.00 | c | Milk | | 0.50 | c | Melted shortening |
Instructions: Preheat oven to 425 F.
Sift dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
Add egg, milk, and shortening.
Stir until blended, do not overbeat.
Grease 8-inch square pan or iron skillet.
Heat on top of stove and pour in batter.
Bake in the oven 20 to 25 minutes.
Serves 8 to 10.
