| RECIPE FOR APPLESAUCE NUT BREAD |
Title: Applesauce Nut Bread Serves: 1
Ingredients:
| 2.00 | c | All-purpose flour | | 2.00 | ts | Baking powder | | 1.00 | ts | Salt | | 1.00 | ts | Cinnamon | | 0.50 | c | Butter, softened | | 0.75 | c | Granulated sugar | | 0.50 | c | Brown sugar | | 2.00 | | Eggs | | 1.25 | c | Chunky-style applesauce | | 1.00 | c | Walnuts, chopped |
Instructions: 1) Sift the flour with the baking baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
2) Cream the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
3) Beat in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4) Stir half of the dry ingredients into the sugar mixture and then half of the applesauce.
Repeat.
5) Fold nuts into batter.
Pour into a well greased and floured 9x5x3 loaf pan.
6) Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until tester, inserted into center, comes out clean.
7) Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
Remove.
Let bread cool completely on wire rack before slicing.
